Are they ready? \nProf. DeBel’s 3-day\, in-depth guidance of the college essay\nClass structure: \nThis class is a deep dive into the process of writing strong college essays. We will discuss what colleges are looking for\, how to make an essay stand out\, the best organization for the essay\, strong openings and endings\, developing a strong voice\, how to approach the revision process\, and the like. We will do brainstorming and writing activities\, discuss sample college essays that have worked for top-tier colleges\, and workshop essays from the students in class. After these classes\, your child will have a chance to meet individually with Professor DeBel to discuss his or her essay and receive personalized feedback. By the end of these sessions\, your child will have an essay they can be proud to submit. \nSaturdays\, June 19th and June 26th\, 10:00 am – 12:30 pm (2 1/2 hours each day)\, plus the one-on-one session to be scheduled in July.\n$459 per student\nAbout the instructor: Professor Heather DeBel earned her B.A. in Literature and Creative Writing from Ramapo College and her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Maryland.
