Many colleges and universities are waiving SAT and ACT test scores for the upcoming school year; this means that your child’s Personal Statement and responses to school-specific Supplemental Essay Prompts are increasingly important to their college applications. College essays are the only part of the application entirely in your child’s control and are more important now than they have ever been. Are they ready?

Dr. Abate’s in-person, 3-hour tutorial

Wednesday, August 10th: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

$225 per student

Class structure:

The three hours of class time will provide an overview and coaching for all three types of college application writing: Personal Statement, Why X?, and Supplemental. With each session capped at only eight participants, your child will get the personalized help they need with this extremely important and challenging portion of their application.

About the instructor: Dr. Corey Abate is a veteran teacher who has taught all levels of English courses from 6th grade through 12th grade AP Lit and Lang. During her 25-year career, she has assisted countless students with all aspects of their college essays, from helping them to arrive at an essay topic, all the way through the process to the final polishing stages at the end. Dr. Abate holds a Ph.D. in British Literature from New York University with a specialty in Shakespearean Drama.
